One of the coolest things about Speed Secrets is the variety of drivers and forms of motorsport we work with. We have worked with drivers of all kinds of motorsports disciplines including motorcycle road racing and flat track, drag racing, and just about every kind of road racing and oval track racing. Something that was new to us was drifting. Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. Vaughn came to us earlier this year to ask how Speed Secrets mental training could help him prepare to perform at his peak during the high pressure situations encountered in Formula Drift.

Formula Drift takes the sport of drifting to a whole new level - performing in front of huge crowds, often on big race tracks as part of large race events. It features big horsepower rear drive V8 cars, like Vaughn's Ford Mustang. With over 600 HP, this thing's a beast!

Ross Bentley worked with Vaughn to teach him how to prepare to drive, so he was able to perform at his peak - enabling him to cope with the pressures of media appearances, sponsor obligations and the like. The sport of drifting requires drivers be ready to go - without the benefit of warm-ups or multiple-lap qualifying sessions. You often get only one chance to produce your best effort.

Ross was able to teach Vaughn how to focus on his performance, how to get into "the zone" when he needed to so that Vaughn was able to give his best performance when it really counted, regardless of the stress of the situation.
